books, magazines, and games. The Cedar Twin Ponds Bench is a simplistic, comfortable design at
home in any garden. It can be pulled up to a patio
table for outdoor dining seating, or set out on the porch for social
gatherings. Long lasting good looks and low maintenance make cedar a great choice
for outdoor garden furniture. If left unfinished outside, the cedar
will weather to a beautiful silvery gray.
We use only the finest cedar to create furniture that lasts for
generations. It is naturally resistant to decay, insect and weather
damage. Because of this superior resistance, cedar is frequently used
for outdoor fencing, and siding on homes.
Cedar has an exceptionally high strength-to-weight ratio, which means
that it is both durable and easy to move about. It does not shrink or
warp as many other woods commonly do.
It is normal,
natural, and necessary for all cedar log furniture to endure the natural
process of "checking" as the wood ages. Checking occurs as a cedar log
releases moisture across or through the annual growth rings. It does
not affect the structural performance or integrity of the furniture, and
many times will enhance the natural beauty of the piece. All cedar
logs which contain the heart of the tree will develop lengthwise cracks
or checks, and the checking will never go deeper than the heart. In
other words, don't be alarmed if you see cracks in your cedar furniture.
Optional choice of Superdeck Stain protects brand-new or
weathered wood from premature graying, mildew growth and cracking,
swelling and warping caused by water absorption.
